We’re about to introduce a company mascot, which we felt would be a really good move. We’re looking for ideas and suggestions that can really make it take off. Our business is not that old, to be honest. We have only been around for a couple of years now. We felt that a mascot could help take the business to a higher level. Any suggestions? Thanks.

A company mascot is a really good idea. If you can get it right, it will make a big difference. One thing I would like to suggest right off the bat is that you have someone be in charge regarding the mascot.

This position must be taken seriously. Anything and everything to do with the mascot has to go through him or her. You could also have several people work as a team to be in charge of the mascot. This is important, otherwise, the mascot won’t be seen as a priority.

Right now, we have several people who are in charge of discussing matters regarding the mascot. I would imagine eventually, someone would take charge. If not, I will make the suggestion, thank you.

OK, that’s good. It’s a good idea to get others on board too. For example, there may be some valuable marketing opportunities. These should be pounced on. It’s a chance to showcase your company and mascot and drum up more business. The marketing team should also take an interest.

Since you don’t have a mascot as yet, try to make sure that it is a ‘fun’ mascot. This will also make it more memorable. If people remember the mascot, they will remember your company and the product and vice versa.

The fact that it is fun and memorable can have a positive impact on your business. Anyone neutral, who knows nothing about your business may feel that the company must be fun to deal with too. Don’t underestimate the power of a good, fun mascot.

That’s a good point. I will mention it to my manager. Who can we approach regarding a mascot though? We have some ideas, but is there anyone we can talk to and discuss ideas with? I would imagine they would be able to help a great deal.

You should contact the company we used for ours, Hogtown Mascots Inc. They helped us design and produce our mascot basically from scratch. They are very experienced and incredibly helpful. Even if you have a mascot, they can help you revamp that.

The owners or founders are two gentlemen named John and George. I remember them, because I made a silly joke. I asked them where Paul and Ringo were, because I wanted to meet them! But seriously, contact them and they will help you succeed for sure.

Make use of social media. Set up a Facebook or Twitter page. That can help make your mascot very popular. Harness the power of this medium and you will watch things really take off.
