Does anyone have an electric bike? My car broke down recently and I’ve been thinking about whether I should get a new one, or keep taking the subway to get to work. I haven’t been using my car a lot in the last few years, so I’m thinking maybe I can do without a car.
I don’t really like taking the subway everyday though, so I’ve been thinking about maybe buying a bike to commute, or maybe an electric bike. I’d like to hear from people who have already tried electric bikes, do you like it? Would you recommend it?
Thank you for your answers!

Hi! I don’t have an electric bike but my brother in law has one that he bought a few years ago, he really loves it. He says it’s a lot easier to climb hills than with a regular bike, and it doesn’t take too long to charge the battery.
If you need a bike to commute, I’d say an electric bike is a great choice!

I do have an electric bike! I bought it from Scooteretti and it’s a great bike, very stylish. I used to ride my normal bike almost every single day, but after my knee surgery 2 years ago, recovery was difficult and I couldn’t ride my bike for very long. A friend told me I should consider getting an electric bike because it would allow me to ride my bike without much efforts.
It was a great idea and I fell in love with how easy it was to ride my electric bike! Now my knee is better, but I’m never going back to my old bike. In fact, I’m thinking of selling it, so if ever you just want to purchase a normal bike, in good condition, maybe you should take a look at mine!
I’ll keep that in mind, but you make electric bikes sound great so I think I’d like to get one too!
There’s one thing I’m not sure of though, when you have an electric bike, do you have to pedal at all, or does the motor of the bike do everything for you?

Depending on the model you have, you can switch off the motor entirely and just pedal, you can only rely on the motor, or you can pedal while getting some assistance from the motor. There are many options and of course, many models of electric bikes on the market.
Some folks only use the assistance of the motor when they want to climb hills. It all depends on your preferences and on how much exercise you’d like to do while you’re riding your electric bike!
Ok, I get it. It does sound great… A bit of exercise can’t hurt, but it’s great to know you can reply on the motor whenever your legs get tired!
I don’t know much about electric bikes, I thought they were a bit like motorcycles, but more sleek. I thought they didn’t even have any pedals, just a motor! I feel silly now!
I’ve already tried the electric bike of a friend of mine. It was fun to ride, but I don’t really enjoy riding a bike so I knew that was not for me… However I thought it looked very nice, I liked the design of his bike.
How much time does it take to fully recharge an electric bike? I guess that depends on the model of your bike?
I’d say that really depends on your electric bike, but it could take between 3 and 10 hours. It also depends on whether your battery was fully discharged or not. Hope that helps!
