So my birthday was 2 days ago, and a very dear friend who lives far away sent me a wonderful gift: a beautiful watch made from wood! I had never seen a watch like this one before. My friend knows how much I love collecting watches, so his gift really means a lot to me!
Have you ever seen a wooden watch before? Also I was wondering, does anyone know if there’s something I should to do maintain the finish of the watch? Or is it maintenance free?

First of all, happy birthday! I hope you had a wonderful time!
Second, I’ve never seen a wooden watch before, but I’m sure it’s amazing! I wonder if there are any benefits to wearing a watch made from wood, or if it’s only for the look of it.

I don’t know about all wooden watches, but I know the ones made by Tense Watch Canada are made from recycled or reclaimed wood. So choosing a wooden watch is choosing an eco friendly and sustainable product that also looks unique and stylish! I guess wooden watches must also be hypoallergenic which can be very helpful for some people.
I didn’t think of that!
Oh and thank you, I had a good time for my birthday, yes, but receiving this special gift from my friend was truly the highlight of my day!

I already considered buying a wooden watch, but my budget at the moment decided it wasn’t a good idea. Next time I need a new watch though, I’ll be shopping for a wooden watch.
I’m not sure if there’s any specific way to maintain it, though… I guess you should just take care of it like all the other watches in your collection?

Your friend has great taste! My husband owns a wooden watch and to tell you the truth, I’m jealous of his watch and I often wear it, even though it’s a bit too large for my wrist!
To clean your wooden watch, you can just use a damp cloth with a tiny drop of mild dish soap. Gently rub your watch with the cloth to remove any dirt or skin oils, and you’re done!
Since wood expands in water, it’s important to never let your watch soak in water as it could damage it! If ever you notice there’s a crack in the wood, or if it needs any repair, you should get in touch with the company that made your wooden watch and they will be able to take good care of it for you.
Thank you so much! So maintenance seems pretty easy for such a beautiful watch!
Instead of stealing your husband’s wooden watch, you should get your own 😉

You’re welcome! I think I’ll ask for one for my birthday or for next Christmas, in fact…
One thing I forgot to mention is that the colours of your wooden watch will age with time, this is perfectly natural. It happens because the wood is exposed to skin oils, to sunlight and to the elements, but it’s not something you should be worried about, in fact it should make your watch look even more beautiful!
That’s amazing! Thanks for the tips!

Ok, I just made an online search because I was curious, I never heard of wooden watches before! And wow, I must say I saw a lot of gorgeous pics, there are so many different wood finishes… I’m jealous, I definitely need a wooden watch now!
I know what I’ll be asking for my birthday in two months now!!
